Rah rah skirt was a popular trend in the 80’s, among girls. For those you who don’t know what a Rah rah skirt is, it’s a short layered skirt that originated from cheerleading outfit. To be honest, I didn’t know the frilly skirt I bought from Matalan for a summer holiday years ago is called Rah rah skirt until few months ago. I haven’t worn this skirt much since I bought it. This was one of those impulse purchases before summer holiday abroad, anyway while I was clearing out my closet I found this skirt. Since the 70’s trend is back in fashion and was seen a lot on the runway I thought of doing something different and wanted to create a look which would look a bit modern with this 80’s trendy skirt. I have paired the Rah rah skirt with a three-fourth sleeves solid black t-shirt from Primark, my favourite petite leather jacket from Topshop and black heel court shoes.
This quote by Christian Dior “You can wear black at any time. You can wear it at any age. You may wear it for almost any occasion.” inspired me to create this all black look.
Have you guys heard of the Rah rah skirt? Do you like wearing it? I would love to hear how you guys would pair the Rah-rah skirt.
