The geek chic has become a respected trend for a couple of years now and since Gucci’s ready to wear pre-spring/summer collection of 2016 it has become a style in itself with a rather pompous title: the luxe geek chic. But this is extremely good to know from very many perspectives, one of which being that geeks are actually cool and trendy and the other is that if you’re into it, it’s not that hard to pull it off on a budget. So, this is how you can wear luxe geek chic under £50.
You need to visit the best online fashion retailers because it’s there you’ll find the best sales and get stuff at bargain prices. And since it’s so easy to surf the internet and take a look around, I advise you to start from here.
First of all, you’ll need to get the iconic geek item, which is a pair of oversized geek looking glasses. Once you get the glasses you’re almost 100% luxe geek chic, because this makes 50% of the entire look and you can find them on sale around £5 if you know where to look. Next stop is a funky combination.
For example you can opt for a geek-ish knitted jumper or a tartan shirt to go along, but just think something retro from the 70s or 90s and you’ll be geek chic alright! A tartan shirt can be found for around £10-£15 in online stores.
A high waisted denim skirt or just a plain vintage pair of shorts will help you become even more luxe geek chic and you can get one around £10. Now you’ll need a few accessories, such as a beret, a bow tie scarf around your neck, a pair of glossy gloves or a pair of oversized earrings. However, a couple snap hair clips may actually do the trick for you accessories-wise and you’ll stay within the budget.
As for shoes, it’s either brogues or loafers, whatever you prefer, it still is geek chic and you can find them on sale for just £19.99! A pair of glossy ones add some luxe and you’re ready to go. And if your budget won’t allow you to buy a new pair of loafers, you can always ask your granny for her vintage ones and problem solved!
Luxe geek chic is a vintage inspired trend, so if you know what to look for and where it might be really cheap to dress accordingly. Good luck!
