I really understood why  the above quote was penned down by Jaclyn Smith,after attending  Vashi diamond master class at their headquarters in Hatton Garden, last week. For those of you who don’t know the Vashi brand, Vashi.com was founded by Vashi Dominguez in 2007 who is renowned to A- list celebrities like Rita Ora, Cheryl Cole and many more. Vashi Dominiguez has been seen regularly on ITV, BBC, CNN, CNBC, as the diamond expert spreading the his knowledge about diamonds to the viewers.

At the master class we were educated about how diamonds are formed, which areas in the world they are most found in, and what to look for when buying diamonds. The master class was quite fun and engaging,we got to play with few great pieces of diamonds and understood  cut, clarity, colour and carat of the different pieces. It was quite interesting to learn that there are over 10 different shapes of diamond available and most people get confused with cut and shape. The shapes range from princess to cushion and many more. Cut is the most important factor when determining value, it allows the diamond to handle light well and emit sparkle. We were also taught how to distinguish between a cubic zirconia and real diamond, which was very fascinating. The tip I learnt from the class is, rub a loose diamond over some text and the piece through which you can read the text clearly will be cubic zirconia. Diamonds are also good investment like gold, it’s good to invest in diamonds as their prices are increasing rapidly.The best thing about Vashi diamonds are that they are  hand-picked by  founder Vashi himself. The quality and craftsmanship of their pieces are worth admiring.
