London Fashion Week this year started with bang, I got the opportunity to attend Luke Archer’s Autumn Winter Collection. Luke Archer is a British Fashion designer specialising in luxury ready to wear couture pieces. Luke started his label in 2010 after graduating from Middlesex University and soon went on to win Alfa Romeo Young Designer of the Year Award in 2013.

London Fashion Week AW16: Ophidia by Luke Archer

Luke Archer’s Ophidia tells a story of a bold woman who is elegant, poised,strong and fierce at the same time. Every piece in this collection had a gothic look showcasing bold, confident woman exuberating luxury and power.The fabrics used were very earthy and reptile like but the silhouettes were feminine and showcased a woman’s curves.

My favourite from the collection was a brown couture gown covering the model’s face which resembled a snakeskin mixing strength and elegance in a new powerful way. The collection’s colour palette was mostly earthy with black, green and khaki dominating most of the garments. However we did see a splash of bright prints here and there, but it still stuck to the theme. The texture was key to this collection with the clever use of fabrics that gave the illusion of shells and feathers that added a 3-D look to the garments.

Overall it was an incredible show celebrating the power and elegance of a modern woman through some outstanding garment construction. I was pleased with the show and would recommend you guys to check his website.
