How To Crochet A Hair Scrunchie

Hello everyone welcome to first crochet post since I rebranded this blog. I am really excited to share this quick easy beginner friendly crochet pattern.

The scrunchie made a return in a big way and I love making them as its super quick to make, uses only few materials and makes it perfect for gift for friends and family.

For this project I used 2 types of yarn acrylic mixed wool yarn and 4.5 mm crochet hook. If you want slight less stretchy than mine you can just do lesser stitches than mine.

WRITTEN PATTERN

Materials:

Hook: 4.5 mm

Yarn: Aran/Worsted Weight 5 Style Craft Yarn and Lion Brand Wool Ease.

Elastic Hair Band

Darning Needle

Yarn Guide

Scissors

Abbreviations:

Ch- Chain

SC- Single Crochet

HDC- Half Double Crochet

HTC- Half Treble Crochet

Sl St- SLip Stitch

 

The scrunchie is worked in crocheting each stitch around the elastic.

Begin with a slip knot on hook and then crochet 2 SC to secure the yarn on the elastic

Row 1: Crochet 140 HDC (US)/HTC(UK) onto the hair band, sl st to join.

Row 2: Ch 1, 140 Crochet 140 HDC (US)/HTC(UK), sl st to join

Ch 1 draw loop through hook, cut yarn  and weave in ends.
