Snapped in Ilam Park: Petite Style Diary

photo 1

Happy Wednesday ladies!  2 weeks ago I went to Peak District. We went on a long drive, it was quite windy so I didn’t go hiking but we went to visit Ilam Park . It’s a beautiful country park with stately building, well manicured Italian garden, picturesque view. I would recommend going there if you live in England. It was a sudden plan so I paired my favourite Topshop jeans with sleeveless blouse and blazer. The look is effortless and comfortable. I have also posted some beautiful photos of Ilam Park for you guys to enjoy.

How To Make DIY Jewellery Organizer: Earring Edit

DIY Jewellery Organizer

DIY Jewellery Organizer

Do you love shopping bracelet, earrings and other jewellery but don’t know how to store them? Do you feel you keep them organised beginning of the week and then they end up in a big mess. I went through the same problem until I figured out a way to create a DIY jewellery organizer especially for my earrings. It’s very simple and cost-effective way to organise your earrings. I am not a big fan of busting my wallet and love to recycle and reuse stuff where I can. If you love DIY like me check out this board for amazing inspirations. I have pinned some beautiful easy to make DIY projects from Pinterest. I am in the process of using old jars and bottles as a vase or tea light candle holder. I will update you ladies on my progress.

How to make DIY Jewellery Organizer?

Here’s what you need:

1.  Thermocol Sheet ( I used the one which came with my kettle box package )

2. Printed Paper of your choice or gift wrapping paper.

3. Sticky tape/glue stick & scissors

Steps:

1. Measure and cut the Thermocol accordingly.

2. Wrap the Thermocol piece with printed paper

4. Put sticky tape or glue to secure the paper ends.

5. Finished! Its ready to pin in your earrings.

Do you make DIY stuff ? Do share it with me. I love to hear about new DIY stuff.

Hope you liked the post. Stay Elegantly Fashionable xx

What I Wore TO London Fashion Weekend: Petite Edit

Hello Ladies,

Happy Friday! London Fashion was back in February and all the buzz around it has faded away now. I was browsing my media library and I wanted to share with you lot, what I wore to London Fashion Weekend.

Petite Fashion

Coat: Benetton Paris

Scarf: H&M Paris

Bag:  Benetton Paris

Shoes: Thanks to Petite Shoe Boutique.

It was really cold here so I decided to wear my petite coat( I wore a petite dress from Topshop [under the coat]) and petite shoes.  I love thecoat, I bought this from Benetton Paris while I was there for my birthday two years back. It fits me perfectly and falls just above my knee, what a blessing. I am sure you petite ladies would know what I am talking about. For us petites, a coat that falls just above the knee is a rare reality. I love this coat, most of my coats are from Paris. Paris is great place to shop for elegant clothes, you can also find petite clothing if you are searching well. My shoes are from Petite Shoes Boutique, do check them out if you have petite feet.

I went to London Fashion Weekend with my bloggy friends Jodie and Vicki, it was great to catch up with them. We attended the trend catwalk show and a session about blogging by remotely fashion blog. The talk was really inspiring for us bloggers. We also went to the marketplace designer outlets to check out their collection. It was a great day and I really enjoyed it.

Hope you liked my coat.

Introducing Solillas Footwear Brand

Sollilas 1

Hello Everyone,

Hope you are enjoying the lovely sunshine. We have been blessed this week with great sunshine, fingers crossed it remains this way. Talking of sunshine I would like to introduce you to a footwear brand from The Balearics called Solillas. I was invited by Lucy Dartford PR to attend press launch of Solillas at Boxpark Mall in East London, last week.

At the event, Solillas showcased their new SS14 collection designed for women, men and kids. Their range is colourful and fun which draws inspiration from the bohemian Balearic lifestyle. Their new Balearic sandal collection is also stocked at Office stores ( UK footwear brand). Every pair of Solillas sandal is handmade in the small Menorcan town of Ferreries with highest quality materials supporting traditional craftsmanship skills and the local economy. The leather for Solillas is sourced from Spain and Italy, making sure only the finest quality ingredients are used.  Solillas have also teamed up with great Balearic designers, artists and illustrators to produce their much awaited women’s clothing range. The event also marked the launch of their women’s clothing range along with live hand painting of a special edition of Solillas sandals by Emma Charlton who is a body painter based in Ibiza. I absolutely loved the sandals exclusively hand painted by Emma and they are among my favourite sandals.

sollilas 10

To be honest I am not huge fan of sandals but the sandals from Solillas have a good shape, apt for people who don’t want to show their toe nails too much like me. The sandals for women are priced between £44 to £52. You can have a look at their website for the full range. If you like to try out stuff before buying and do not prefer online shopping , then there is good news for you. l is resident at Boxpark Mall for few months now, so you can now try out the sandals before your purchase. You can check out Boxpark Mall website for opening times and more information.

The starting size of Solillas sandal for women is 36 ( UK 3). I would suggest all you ladies to go and check out Solillas range, you will not be disappointed.

Did you know about Solillas? Do like sandals? Do share your thoughts with me.

Out and About: Spaghetti Top & Blazer

Petite Fashion Blogger

Petite Fashion Blogger

Petite Fashion BloggersBlazer: Boohoo.com

  Spaghetti top: Primark

Shoes: Barratts

How are you ladies? Hope you are doing well. Last week we managed to get some sunshine here in the UK so we (me and my husband) headed towards the country side. I love going on a drive to the country side and enjoying greenery. I am quite lucky living in UK we have beautiful countryside to enjoy. Last weekend we headed to White Horse Hill in Uffington,Oxfordshire. White Horse Hill is home to mysterious chalk hill figure from the bronze age and is internationally renowned scenic site. The area is of outstanding beauty and White Horse can be seen spreading miles across the lush green valley. It’s an ideal location for hike, if you are a beginner and want to go hiking do visit this place. I love hiking however I didn’t venture out hiking that day as it was quite windy. Be prepared to take your camera as you will get the opportunity take photos of scenic landscape.  The hills are ideal for kite flying. So if you wanted to fly and kite with young children and were searching for a place do check out this place.

I learnt about the White Horse Hills on the National Trust website while I was browsing the internet sitting on the passenger seat. We were out on the road and I was trying to find a place to go. I am impulsive and just love going on road trips. Many a times I have decided where to go while we are already in the car. I love being spontaneous. Are you spontaneous? Do just head out without planning ahead of time.

For the drive I chose to wear a black Spaghetti top pairing it with a nude blazer. I love comfortable clothes that’s why I always stick to my good old pair of jeans. I experiment with tops, blazers and blouses. One tip from me would be to have a few pair of  spaghetti tops. You can pair different tops with the same blazer giving your outfit a new look without having to bust your wallet. Spaghetti tops can be found for a fiver(£5) at Primark or you can also check out supermarket clothing sections. Hope you ladies, found my tip helpful.

Do you have a tip that you want to share. Please share it with us on the comments section.

Until next time stay elegantly fashionable xx

Petite Blogger

Dress: Top Shop Petite

  Shoes: Petite Shoe Boutique

Jewellery: Forever21

On 14th March I hosted the second edition of Petite Fashion Week Networking Event in East London. Petite Fashion Week is first of its kind in supporting the Petite Fashion industry and bringing together petite designers/retailers, bloggers and consumers under the same roof. We celebrate Petite Women & Petite Fashion.

The first  edition of Petite Fashion Week took place from 1st to 5th October 2013, which marked the beginning of a  global petite community and provided petite fashion bloggers around the world a platform to address petite girl’s pain points. Petite Fashion Week aims to help upcoming Petite retailers/designers to reach petite consumers globally. After the phenomenal success we also hosted networking events on 14th March in Miami and Dallas.

We had a great turnout at the London event this year and had great Petite retailers like Jeetly Petite, Ego Shoes, Petite Shoe Boutique and The Clothes Lady who showcased their products at the event. We had other retailers like My Haart Beeding, Lipsplash, Biteable Beatique showcasing their products to our guests. Nice Nails Baby provided free nail services to our guests. The giveaway gifts were sponsored by Kukke and Prairie charms. The 16th Bar Petite Women’s Wear provided $150 gift cards to our guests in London, Miami and Dallas.

We had great speakers like Jess Jeetly of Jeetly Petite, Denise Estcourt, Aga Moodley, Rebecca Goodyear speaking at the event about petite fashion and beauty.

For the event I chose to wear Topshop Petite blue shift dress with Shoes from Petite Shoe Boutique and my necklace was from Forever 21.

Representing Petite Women: Catwalk4Change Fashion Show

Petite Blogger

Catwalk4change was a fashion show with difference. It showcased mature models and UK bloggers of different height, shape and ethnicity to promote multiculturalism, ethnic diversity, and positive image. The event took place at Water Lilly on 6th September, last year. All funds raised from ticket sales were donated to mental health charity MIND and cancer

I was invited to participate in the blogger fashion show. When I got the invite I was thrilled that I would represent petite women and contribute to the charity at the same time. On the day Guest enjoyed upbeat fashion show hosted by British Actress, Charlotte Avery, paired by pop legend Stacey Jackson. The event was supported by some sought after UK celebrities such as Alex Reid, Charlie Sims, Denise Walsh, Layla Anna-Lee,Lynda Bellingham, Jane Goldman and Sian Lloyd. The show also caught special attention of CEO of the British Fashion Council, Caroline Rush, who was fully supportive of the cause and was excited to see the impact it made and the issues it raised.

I was extremely pleased by the support and turnout on the day. I was showcasing African prints from two designers. The interesting part of the blogger show was each of us were wearing clothes from different ethnic backgrounds. The Africa girls were wearing Indian clothes, Asian girls were wearing western outfits. It was interesting showcase of fashion from different countries and ethnicity.

The lovely Georgina from Forks and Brushes and the designer I was wearing ( Eldimaa Fashion) took a video clipping of me walking the runway. Enjoy the video below and do let me know your thoughts.
