Hello everyone, recently I was approached by Damart to take part in the Art of Style Blogger Challenge to style this season’s hot product the Dogtooth Wrap*. Since I am petite I styled the wrap with a black belt just to give some dimension to my petite body and not look like I have been swamped in by the fabric. The wrap is soft, cosy and quite large to keep one warm. I absolutely loved the wrap and wished if I was a bit tall. I wore top to bottom black to go with the monochrome colour of the wrap. For those who don’t know much about Damart, it is an online fashion store that constantly updates its collections to encourage fun, vitality, innovation and care by delivering products with care and adequate customer relationship.

As we move from pre-winter to winter, choosing what to wear in the mornings can take somewhat more thought. There is likewise the need to coordinate trousers, skirts, tops, tights and shoes keeping in mind the end goal to look awesome both inside and outside. Here are some top fashion tips for autumn/winter

  1. Choose the styles to suit your body shape

Every season there will be a variety of outfits to suit all body shapes. The secret to looking truly in vogue is to choose the key dress, trousers, skirts and coat styles to suit your body shapes. Always go for outfits that make you comfortable.

  1. Search for beautiful autumnal colors

Autumn/winter is without a doubt all about rich colors. Changing the colour of the clothes you wear is a great tip that will help your dress sense at this time of the season. If you are used to wearing black dresses then you can decide to go for a navy blue dress because it is less harsh and draining than black.

  1. Get a nice pair of boots

Another essential bit of outdoor wear, a couple of winter boots will look great with lots of diverse outfits furthermore keep your feet warm in a stylish way and dry all through from the autumn into the winter.

  1. Layer your outfits

Layering is not only a good approach to keep warm but also adjusts your outfit to the warmer temperatures inside, it is a polished and a key part of women’s style for autumn/winter. Pick thin pieces in order to stay away from the layers looking bulky and reason carefully about the colour, texture, length, collar and sleeves of every layer and how they will work together.

  1. Always balance your outfit

Any cloth or accessory you decide to wear, always ensure that you think about the finished look so that it will be well balanced. A lot of bulky outfits, colour or pattern can be overwhelming and disturbing especially for us petite ladies.

  1. Accessories

Carefully select your accessories. Scarves are extraordinary autumn accessories because they give a touch of warmness however they likewise include colour and texture. Belts are also great for adding shape to clothes and also helps to bring out the shape around the waist.

With this tips, you can look trendy during autumn/winter season.

5 Petite Wardrobe Essentials & Classy Monday Blog Link Up

Petite Fashion | Elegantly Fashionable

Petite Fashion | Elegantly Fashionable

Being petite, just about 5 feet it’s extremely important for me to have essentials pieces that I can rely on each season. These are few wardrobe essentials which really complement petite women’s height.

  1. Straight Leg Pants- However much I love skinny jeans, straight leg pants are ideal for us petite girls as they tend to create an illusion of height. Straight leg pants showcase the shape of your legs and, as a result, it helps to elongate the petite frame. I would recommend staying away from ill-fitting baggy pants which will add extra weight and make your look shorter.
  1. Mini Skirt- Mini skirts are a petite girl’s best friend as it shows off your leg helping you to look taller. I also love skorts which is a combination of a skirt and shorts. Skorts are my absolute favourite as I don’t have to be very careful that the skirt might move upwards or fly in the wind. They also give a great shape.
  1. Biker Jacket- Biker jackets are a wardrobe essential and can be worn with absolutely everything ranging from jeans to shift dresses. The reason why biker jacket is great for us petite girls is that it has a crop shape compared to other jackets and falls on the waist which helps to showcase the legs which is very important to appear tall. But be sure to buy one from the petite section as you need the sleeves to be the right size.
  1. Wedge sneakers- I love wearing sneakers, it’s comfortable and stylish. However being petite I need a bit of height to elevate myself so wedge sneakers are the best combination as u can actually wear comfortable shoes without comprising on the heel height.
  1. Pointed mid heel pumps/court shoes- Wearing flats most of the time is not an option for us petite women who want to look taller. Wearing huge high heels makes one look like you are intentionally trying to look taller. Wearing pointed medium heel pumps help to make your feet look longer and add some height at the same time giving a classy chic look.

Dents, one of the most reputed brand in Britain is known for its handmade finest quality leather gloves. I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to try an item from their collection. Since everyone pretty much know Dents for their gloves I wanted to try something different so I ordered the bucket bag. I was meaning to get a bucket bag* since ages so this was the perfect opportunity.

I am fascinated with the history of a brand so wanted to share few bits about Dents. John Dent started his accessory company called Dents in 1977 in Worcester, England manufacturing fine leather gloves. The company’s main focus is handcrafting fine leather gloves, but they also design and manufacture fine accessories like belts, bags, hats, scarves and small leather goods for both men and women.

Now coming back to the bucket bag, it is  made of fine leather and comes with a drawstring closure. There are slip pockets and zip inside the bag. The size of the bag is 21cm (H) x 23cm (W) x 12cm (D). I absolutely love the saddle colour of the bag, but I wished the shoulder strap was adjustable to suit us petite ladies. I love the bag and would recommend everyone to check it out.

Hello everyone! This week’s post is a round up of London Fashion Week SS15 looks. Even though I wasn’t able to attend any fashion shows in London thanks to the digital age I was able to watch few shows via live stream. My mum is still in the hospital and I am praying to god she recovers as soon as possible. Thanks to everyone for your prayers and good wishes, I feel really blessed. Today’s post is also going to be a short one, I am afraid. Apologies in advance.

Anyway, I am a huge fan of Daks and Eudon Choi and always keep my eyes peeled out every season to see what new designs they come up with. I was privileged to try Zandra Rhodes collection for Jacquest Vert Group and love her choice of fun and flirty colours. Above are few designer looks from London Fashion Week that I would love to try out.

Which one is your favourite? Leave me your comments below.

Perisecco

Hello everyone! Thanks so much for all your prayers and support. Reading your comments on my last post really cheered me up.  I am sorry for not being able to post this post. The Monday’s post is being published today. Today’s post is about a new sparkling drink brand called Perisecco. Recently I got the chance to try 2 varieties of Perisecco sparkling aperitivo. Perisecco which originates from the Northern Italian region of the Vento and comes in six flavours.

The flavours I tried are cucumber and iced melon. The cucumber aperitivo is a mixture of elderflower, cucumber and mint. The iced melon is a mixture of elderflower, mint and watermelon. My favourite  among the two is cucumber aperitivo. The combination of cucumber with elferflower and mint gives it a fresh and sweet flavour. This is an all year round drink in my opinion, whereas the iced melon aperitivo is a perfect drink for the summer with sweet fruity taste. This would be an ideal company for a summer picnic.

The alcohol content in both the drink is around 5.5%. Perisecco aperitvo can be bought in the U.K. from Tesco. I highly recommend checking their website out.

What is your favourite cocktail drink? I would love to know leave your comments in the comments section.

The Denim on Denim Trend & Classy Monday Link Up

Hello my beautiful friends, hope you are well! Today I am going to share a fashion trend that I have been very scared of trying in the past. The trend I am talking about is Denim on Denim, this trend has been in fashion since last year but I never had the confidence to try it. Being petite I was scared it would eat me up for some reason. However after browsing quite a few fashion magazines and blogs I thought of trying this trend.

Black and blue are my two favourite colours which I always wear so I thought why not pair a denim blue shirt with a black jeans. I was scouring the rails of Topshop and found this pretty blue denim shirt in the petite section. I was very pleased with the outcome of this outfit. The outfit photos were taken at Monet House, France.

Few things I would like suggest for petite ladies out there is, when wearing denim on denim trend make sure you don’t wear too much accessories as it can get look too busy and make you look shorter. Best is to keep accessories to minimum.

Hope you like my outfit. Let me know if you have any petite styling questions, I would love to help out.
