How To Clear Acne Naturally?

Neem Powder

Clear Acne Naturally

I have been suffering from acne since I was a teenager. I am now trying to clear acne naturally.I was able to successfully clear my acne by chemical peels, microdermabrasion, facials, pills and topical creams prescribed by dermatologists.  My acne cleared up as long as I was doing these treatments and taking medicines however it would return back once I would stop the treatments. I was frustrated as I wasn’t feeling great putting so much chemicals on my skin as we all know the potential hazards. So I took the plunge and started reading about Ayurveda and natural medicine. I came across the medicinal benefits of the herb called “Neem”, being indian this herb wasn’t a new a discovery to me. My mother and grandmother used to tell me the benefits of using “Neem” however being a teenager I didn’t have any patience in trying out natural ingredients for few reasons. First, it takes time to make a face pack or paste every day to be applied over your face and second natural herbs take ages to show visible results.

However after reading up about “Neem” on the internet I learned about its skin benefits. It is an ideal herb for acne prone skin as it has anti-bacterial properties which help to sooth irritation & inflammation and clear up pimples. Living in England it’s hard to find “Neem” leaves, as it’s native to southeast Asia. So I started searching for Ayurvedic Neem powder or neem oil over the internet. After few searches I came across Ayuuri Natural who sell Neem leaf powder which is 100% natural. Without thinking twice I ordered the powder as it was just for £2.49, which is quite cheap.

Once the product arrived I did a patch test as advised to make sure I didn’t have any reaction. After I did the patch test I didnt have any reaction and started washing my face in the morning with neem powder. You need to keep the paste for 5 mins and then wash it off. After  1 month I noticed that I wasn’t getting much pimples, may be one or two just before my periods. So I have decided to continue using it and see if my skin clears up completely

Just to note when using natural treatment it is very important to watch what you eat. I have eliminated diary completely from my diet and I try to drink at least 8 glasses of water.

Stylfile invented by Tom Pellereau

Hello Everyone!Few weeks ago I was invited to a secret blogger event to meet  Stylfile inventor and Apprentice 2011 winner Tom Pellereau at Shop Drink & Co. I am a  huge fan of Tom and was very excited to have received an invite. The event was an intimate event where Tom Pellereau showed us all the products from his stylfile’s existing range and prototypes from his upcoming range.

Keeping your nails in good shape and tidy is well easier if you have the right tools. Tom invented the curved nail care range after watching his sister struggle to file her nails. The curved file has been created to follow the natural shape of nails making it easy to use even with the other non-dominant  hand. I really love the concept of a curved file, it’s a genius invention. I am so surprised that no one else before Tom came up with the idea.

Here are some of the products* from their range that I received and have used:

1.S-file*- The S-file is a curved nail filer with two abrasive sides which helps to curve and smooth nails using one piece of product. Since it has two sides, it’s recommended to use one side to shape the nails and the other side to smooth the nail. You can buy the S-file for £4.49 from most leading super markets and chemists.

2. S-buffer*- The S-buffer is a curved buffer with 4 elements which helps you to achieve shiny sparkling nails without having to visit the nail salon or use transparent nail varnish. This product is one of my favourite from the Stylfile range as it eliminates the need to use transparent nail varnish and helps to get neat, tidy and sparkly nails at the convenience of your own home. The S-buffer is also available for £4.49 from most leading super markets like Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Asda and Boots.

3. Emergency file*- I love the emergency file it’s handy and you can put in your handbag or clutch, perfect to prevent any nail disaster on the go. My nails break quite easily and most of the time I grow them long so the emergency file is a god sent product for me. The emergency file is a mini file in a protective spiral casing which prevents the file from scratching any delicate item. The emergency file is priced at £4.49.

4. S-Clipper *-  The S-clipper comes with curved, scissor-like blades which cuts through the finger nail with ease to help you trim your nails without the ping. I love this product as it’s really good quality compared to other clippers available in stores . You can buy the S-clipper for £8.99. They also do a mini clipper which is priced at £7.49.

I recommend you all to check Stylfile out if you haven’t yet.

Have you used Stylfile products? What are your thoughts?

My Makeup Essentials

My Makeup Essentials

I love makeup and hardly leave the house without makeup. I have acne prone skin and currently have pimples and acne scars that I need to camaflage all the time. Here’s a list of products I use daily before I step out of the house

1.Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation– The shade looks lighter in the photo (due to camera flash, apologies ladies). This is one of the best liquid foundations I have ever used,it blends well and covers all my acne scars giving my skin a flawless finish. I highly recommend this foundation and be sure to use it with a sponge to get the flawless finish. One tip please do not listen to anyone what shade would suit you as most sales girls suggest the wrong shade. I have been to makeup classes and this is one tip all makeup artist would tell you test the foundation on your skin in daylight and check for yourself . I have been suggested the wrong shade almost every time. I contour my face so I use lighter tone in the liquid foundation and use a very dark shade from the sleek contour kit to achieve the desired look. You will see more information on the sleek contour kit as you read further. The mac studio fix is £21.50 and can be bought online. However I will suggest you to go to the nearest Mac store and test the shade before your purchase. Mac has a huge selection of shades matching almost every skin tone.

2.Sleek  Face Contour Kit–  I use the Medium shade which has one light and one dark shade. I love contouring as it helps to sculpt your face to give it a dimension. I used to have an oval face before and as I have put on weight, my face has become round. Contouring helps to sharpen and accentuate my features. The Face Contour Kit from Sleek is only £6.49 and can be bought from their website.

My Makeup Essentials

3.Models Own Powder Blush – I use the Cheeky Pink PB002 powder blush from Models Own. I love the colour and the way it compliments my skin tone. My skin tone is Indian tan and pinks blends very well. I love Models Own products, I got the blusher for £5 from their Bottle shop in Westfield London. They make life so much easier. After I have bought their products like the hyper gel nail polish and nail polish eraser I don’t need to go salons regularly for manicures;I can do it myself at home and achieve a salon like finish. You can also buy products from their website which is a blessing for me.

4. Models Own Lipgloss–  Currently I am using the Models Own lip gloss in shade Madame Rose LG104. I love this shade it is a natural pink, ideal for day time and night-time. I generally apply strawberry lip balm and then put the lipgloss on top of it. I line my lips with Mac Dervish lip pencil. I bought the Models Own lip gloss as part of their promotion ‘buy 6 products for £20’. The lip gloss is also priced at £5.

5. Bourjois Paris Intuitive Liner-  I discovered this liner at boots when I was looking for a liner that would help me to create cat eyes. This is one the best eye liner I have ever bought. The liner has been created after being inspired by the famous art technique of dotting and forms a dotted, intense and fine line in one easy application. There is absolutely no risk of wobbly lines or overlapping making it very easy to use. If you are new to using eye liners I recommend you try this out. The liner can be bought at boots, Selfridges and many main stream retailers. I bought the liner for £6.99. You can check it out here.

6. Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner– I use the shade birthday suit, it gives  a nice subtle shimmery finish. I wear this eyeshadow almost everyday. I love Benefit cosmetics however the products are very expensive. I bought this eye shadow pot for £15.50. You can check out the eyeshadow here.

These are my makeup essentials that I can’t live without. I use them almost everyday for my make up routine. Hope you liked the post.

Introducing Perfect Eyelashes

Perfect EyelashesPerfect Eyelashes

Perfect Eyelashes

Perfect Eyelashes by Agnes Dos Santos*

I love natural false eyelashes. Accentuating your eyes with false eyelashes can really enhance your eyes. I am a recent convert to natural false eyelashes and wear them when I am going to a party or for a special occasion. Currently I am using Natural Luxurious Strip Lashes from Perfect Eyelashes by Agnes Dos Santos. The strip lashes are made from human hair that is ethically sourced in Europe. They are designed and tested in UK. Perfect Eyelashes was established in 2009 and are a reputable brand in the eyelash industry with salons in Holborn, Harley Street and Kensington. At their salons they offer variety of luxurious eyelash extension.

The first time when I used strip lashes from Perfect Eyelashes I was impressed that it was so lightweight and made from human hair as opposed to being synthetic. The lashes look so natural and neatly sit on top of your own lashes. They fit my eye socket quite well but if you need to adjust you can always cut it, to suit your eyes. The lashes are re-usable which means you don’t have keep buying another pair after one use. I am a huge fan of re-usable lashes as you don’t have to bust your wallet. The lashes looked so natural that you can wear them anywhere. The lashes would look good with natural day time makeup as well as heavy party makeup. They came in a “You are Beautiful” case which is so easy to open unlike the ones you get in supermarkets.

I went to a house party wearing the strip lashes and got so many compliments. Most of my friends said they looked so natural which is a great compliment. I would highly recommend you ladies to check out their website. If your wedding day is coming up and you are looking for specialised lash extension experts then I would suggest checking out Perfect Eyelashes salons in London.

Hope you liked the post. Do you use false lashes? Do you like them? You can stay connected with me on BloglovinTwitter,Facebook and Instagram. Looking forward to connecting with you ladies :)

Models Own Hypergel Nail Polish

Models Own Hypergel

Models Own Hypergel Red Lustre SG005

Models own hyper gel polishModels Own Hypergel Sundress SG013

Hello Everyone! Recently I visited the Models Own #Bottleshop in Westfield London last week. I love Models Own  #Bottleshop its such an innovative idea of a pop-up shop. Most of their nail polishes are £5. At the Westfield shop they had a deal “Buy 6 items for £20”. I initially wanted their nail polish corrector pen however I thought it was a great chance to buy few other stuff from them. I came across Models Own hyper gel nail polish. The label said no UV so I grabbed two bottles immediately. I picked up Red Lustre SG005 and Sundress SG013. I picked up few other lip gloss and got a free lip liner. I was extremely happy. I came back home and tried out the nail polishes.

I tried the Sundress SG013 first which is a pink colour and my favourite. If you are tan skinned like me this colour suits very well brightening up the hand. I was very excited as I used to spend a lot of money to get gel nails done at nail salons in London and couldn’t afford to keep doing it. Also to remove them you would need to go the nail salon and spend £10 which also puts off many people to gel nails done frequently. Models Own have brought this amazing concept of gel nail polish which doesn’t require LED light for just £5. It is economical now get gel nails without busting your wallet. I know there are brands who do gel nail polish with no UV but I have not found any other brand who charge as little as £5. The best part is the quality is really well and you can remove it using normal nail polish remover. My nails looked perfect almost for 1 week which was great as it didn’t chip at all. When I use normal nail polish after doing dish washing they chip so easily. I was extremely happy with the result. After a week I tried the Red Lustre SG013 which is quite bright and a nice colour as well.

However my favourite is the Sundress SG005 and highly recommend it. I did get quite a lot of compliments from my friends.

Tips: Make sure you put 2 or 3 coat to get best results. Make sure you let it dry for at least 20 mins to prevent any smudging. The first time I applied hyper gel after 5 mins I started taking photos which smudged the nail colour a bit but next time I applied the nail polish and let it dry for 20 mins and it was flawless.

Also if you are a novice at applying nail polish(like me) make sure you invest in Models Own nail corrector pen which helps you erase any nail polish smudged on the side every easily. I highly recommend it.

Verdict: 4.5 out of 5. Good price and good quality hyper gel nail polish. Models Own Hypergel comes in range of colours to suit everyone’s taste. Check it out here.

Have you tried Models Own hyper gel nail polish? Do you like it? Do let me me. You can stay connected with me on BloglovinTwitter,Facebook and Instagram. Looking forward to connecting with you ladies 🙂

How to clean makeup sponge?

How to clean make up sponges

Hello ladies!

How was your weekend? I got a chance to go to Peak District this weekend and enjoyed great outdoors on a sunny day. How did you spend your weekend?

I am in the process of writing a series of posts called #beautytips. Each week I will share beauty tips with you. Look out for the #beautytips posts and feel free to ask me any questions you may have. Today I am going to show you how to clean makeup sponge? I have very oily and acne prone skin and I need to clean my sponge each time I use makeup. I used to apply mineral makeup however I don’t like the powdery finish. So I have started using liquid makeup since January and I love how I can achieve a flawless finish using sponge. I will soon do a review about the makeup sponge I use soon,  be sure to look out for the post.

Here’s what you would need to clean your makeup sponge:

1. Any washing-up Liquid ( I use Fairy)

2. Olive Oil

1. Take 1 tablespoon of olive oil on your pal.

2.  Pour 1 tablespoon of washing-up liquid on to the oil on your palm.

3. Mix oil and liquid and swish the sponge around the liquid. Use your fingers to get the makeup out.

4. Under running tap water clean the sponge.

5. Pump out excess liquid.

6. I often cover the sponge with a clean towel and squeeze it to dry out the water.

7. Air dry on a clean towel.

Tip: Be sure to clean your sponge a day prior to your use. If you use make-up everyday like me, then clean the sponge the night before.

Hope this was helpful. Please do let me know if you have any questions. Have a great day ladies.
