Taking a perfect picture of yourself requires skills, know-how and determination but one thing is for sure: it’s possible! However, there are a few thing you need to consider and keep in mind when someone takes a picture of you, sort of like some principles that, if you apply, you will look good in photos all the time. Here they are:
Pay attention to your posture
A straight back, a tucked in tummy and neck stuck out will make a huge difference when it comes down to looking better in photos. It’s that simple, yet so important to have a right posture that highlights your best features and hides away the aspects of your body that you want to conceal.
Profile Pose
The best way to go about this is to think about the angles. Facing the camera in an angle that flatters your frame will help. Try posing by turning your head a bit.
A Little Makeup Won’t Hurt
While at it, another thing that will help any woman look good in a picture is wearing a little makeup just to accentuate your beautiful features. Of course, you don’t like wearing makeup just keep it as natural and simple as possible with just a bit of mascara and a lip balm. There you go!
A Matter of Lighting
Another tip is to avoid standing right under a light because it can create some unpleasant shadows over your face and either make you look old or sick. At the same time, you should never stand with the back against the source of light; the best light is the one coming from your front and the best moment of the day for lighting is the sunset which is known as the golden hour.
Don’t Forget to Smile
Undoubtedly the best makeup you can wear is a gorgeous simple. Be yourself, be happy and smile at the camera because a smile makes everyone so much more beautiful!

It’s amazing how much difference good lighting can make. Whenever things are too bright outside, I always make sure we move to a shadier side of a building or street. I’m a very demanding blogger. Good thing my boyfriend is patient. Usually. 😉

I still have a lot of practising to do regarding photos. Learning how to use my camera is another priority, it’s all so confusing. Thank you for hosting

Good lighting makes all the difference!!

those are good tips. i especially like the advice about smiling. i see a lot of bloggers who seem to think a serious face is better than smiling but, 9 times out of 10, it’s not. women want to see clothing on happy people.

These are great tips! The little things definitely count. I agree, smiling makes a huge difference.
I hate taking pictures so I need all the tips I can get!
Great post! I love your leather jacket btw.
Sometimes smiling makes me look like the SPAWN OF SATAN in photos! LOL!
Great advice. It must work because you look beautiful and stunning! I love the jacket with those heels! You’re killin’ it!
I really need to up my game when it comes to posing in pictures. I always hate the way I look! Thanks for the tips – I’m going to put them to good use this weekend 🙂
Great photo tips…I often forget the posture…so this is a great reminder! Bad posture definitely shows up if you are not conscience of fixing it!
Thanks for sharing

I think the tip about posing at the right angle is really important for good fashion photos. I take my own photos with a delayed timer, and it took me months to figure out how to angle my hips, legs, and waist to look the most flattering. And I’m still learning as I go. Thanks for some good tips!
Great tips, thanks for sharing!

If I could only remember these tips instead of panicking when someone points a camera at me.
Good tips about posing. However when taking a photo, always apply the photo rule of thirds – for example, mentally divide your photo into thirds – the “model” should never be in the middle of a photo but the bulk of the body should be on a third (more to one side or the other). It does make a vast difference, try it
